Hello, my crafty friends! Exploring In Color Paper Pumpkin Alternates Part 1 is here! I haven't had enough crafty time to prepare the fun folds and special projects as of yet (been planting flowers and garden), so stop back on Tuesday to see those alternates. When I opened this kit, I immediately thought of both my sister and sister-in-law; this kit really is made for them! It is also a fantastic kit for the guys in our life too!
Mini Slim Line Card
The first alternative is a mini slim line card with the following measurements and supplies:
Base 7" x 6.5" scored @ 3.5"
Mat 1: 3.25" x 6.25"
Mat 2: 3" x 6"
Inside Mat: 3.25" x 6.25"
I used stitched square dies to cut the scene of one of the card bases in the kit
and stamped a sentiment from the Exploring In Color stamp set. I used a retired Stampin' Up! set to stamp the birds. I also stamped a sentiment on the inside mat.

For the next three alternatives I cut one card base from the kit into thirds and matted the panels on to thick basic white card stock. I used a 4.25 x 5.5 mat and used embossing folders to give some texture to the the card front. I used a bird from an old kit to add to one of the cards. On another card I used vellum and used Stampin' Blends to color the image and placed it over the scene. I also used my blender brushes to add color to the embossed front panel on one of the cards.
5 x 7 Alternate Card
I used two different embossing folders on Mat 1 and 2 and added half of a card base from the kit. Any sentiment would be great for this card.
Base 10" x 7" scored at 5"
Inside Mat: 4.75" x 6.75"
Front Mat 1: 2.25" x 7"
Front Mat 2: 2.50" x 6"

Masking and Embossing Card Alternate
This card was so much fun to put together! I first clear embossed the mug and then I used black embossing powder to stamp the compass and boots. I also masked off the first stamped boot to make the second boot. Then I colored with my Stampin' blends (copper clay light and dark) to color in boots. Stamped the sentiment on a tag provided in the kit and used the twine from the kit to hang the elements from the tag.
